Eastern Nepal remains something of a hidden jewel. Those who have trekked here can't understand why, but appreciate that it remains undiscovered. Being most heavily affected by the summer monsoon, it is the greenest and lushest corner of Nepal, and the most developed agriculturally. As home to a great many ex-Gurkha soldiers, whose pensions dwarf local salaries, and whose broad worldly experience is a great resource, it is also the part of the country moving most quickly toward modernization. Several recently-completed highways and the official opening of this part of the country for trekking have already begun to change the face of this beautiful corner of Nepal.
Kanchenjunga, "Treasures of Snow" (28,198ft) is the third highest mountain in the world and was first climbed by a British team in 1956 AD. Here you can endure a tough challenge, and reap the rewards! We promise this high altitude Himalayan trek will leave an impact on you forever. Kanchenjunga, although a restricted area, perhaps one of the most remote trekking regions, is situated in Eastern Nepal bordering the Indian state of Sikkim. This area houses Musk Deer, Blue Sheep and the maybe even the legendary Yeti. Few westerners have traveled to this remote area.
